Hi everyone, my name is Ash. I live in Central PA in the US (dirty place, but it's good enough) about 30 minutes from Harrisburg. I just got my first chinchilla a week ago, a three year old standard grey female named Tia. I adopted her from a couple who were retiring and didn't have time to take care of her anymore. She's a real sweetie, very curious and cautious. She loves rose hips!!

I'm a third-semester college student who recently dropped out of his first college because it was terrible and now I am transferring to a college much closer to home (20 miles [32km] instead of 150 miles [240km]). I will commute to college, so I will live at home.

In addition to Tia, I have a five year old house cat, Bebop; and a seven year old Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Radar. My four-year old rat, Lemmiwinks, passed away January 31st of this year. I still miss her, but... yeah.

I've had lots of animals, and I do anything and everything for them. :D I'm also on the forums at the ChinchillaClub under the name psycho_ash, as well as on RatForum.com under psycho_ash as well.

Ah, et je parle français aussi. Pas bien, mais pas mal... (I also speak French.)

I think that's about it for now... :mhihi:

:wel2cu: Congratulations on becoming Tia's chin slave. I'm so sorry to hear about Lemmiwinks, she was beautiful. I am owned by too many rats to count and have been for 9 years. They are wonderful creatures. You'll find chins to be very different from rats, but I love both species.

You'll probably notice pretty quickly that this forum is UK based. Like myself, there are a few US based members. A great US based chin forum is Chins-n-Hedgies. You should check their vet recommendations to find a chin savvy vet close to you. With chins it is extremely important to have one lined up before any problems arise as time is often of the essence and not all vets are competent with chin care.
